Salary: £33,800 – £37,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

The Opportunity

Precision Talent Network is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, highly respected precision engineering company based in Skelmersdale.

Our client operates a world-class manufacturing facility specialising in high-precision machining, thermal coatings and diamond grinding, supporting demanding engineering applications across a range of industries.

Due to ongoing requirements, they are looking to recruit an experienced Conventional Grinding Setter / Operator with a strong background in cylindrical, internal/bore and surface grinding.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate conventional cylindrical, internal/bore and surface grinding machines.
Manufacture high-precision components to tight tolerances and engineering specifications.
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
Select and establish appropriate tooling, grinding wheels and machining requirements.
Work with exotic materials using a variety of conventional grit and diamond grinding wheels.
Carry out accurate dimensional inspection using precision measuring equipment and advanced gauging systems.
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
Work independently to achieve production requirements while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

Skills & Experience Required

Time-served engineer with proven conventional grinding experience.
Strong practical knowledge of cylindrical grinding, internal/bore grinding and surface grinding.
Confident setting and operating conventional grinding machinery.
Ability to work consistently to close tolerances.
Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and dimensional inspection.
Experience using micrometers, bore gauges, comparators and other precision measuring equipment.
A methodical approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail.
Experience grinding exotic materials or using diamond wheels would be advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

£33,800 – £37,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
